The members are elected by the Board and serve for three (3) year terms. The full Board meets at least four times each year, including an annual retreat away from the home office.

The Board has an Executive Committee consisting of the Board Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, the Secretary, Treasurer, and the CEO/President (as an Ex-officio, non-voting member) that handles routine matters between board meetings.

The Board also has an annually elected Finance & Loan Committee of at least 3 members that meets as needed to approve loans made through the Rural Venture Fund and a Nominating Committee of at least 3 members that assists in the selection, nomination, and education of new board members.
